The original show, not Mayberry RFD. Mine was Barney and Ernest T. Bass. Did you have a favorite episode, or a favorite line? Mine was when Ernest T. Bass told the Army doctor he wanted his two front teeth pulled out, and a gold tooth put in the middle so it stood out more, to impress the girls.
Who was your favorite actors'/actress' on Mayberry?
Barney was my favorite character. Favorite episode was the time Opie had to learn the Preamble to the Constitution, and Barney tried to show he still knew it.
Reply:Ernest was my favorite cause of the courage he showed...it was cool.
Reply:I liked Barny and Opie the best. I liked the episode where Opie tried to sell his bike for five dollars and then Andy was pointing out the problems with the bike to the buyer, trying to teach Opie to be responsible. Then Andy put the house up for sale and when the potential buyers came over Opie started pointing out all the cracks and leaks, it was really funny.
Reply:Mine was Barney and Ernest T. Bass. My favorite line was when Ernest T. Bass told the Army doctor he wanted his two front teeth pulled out, and a gold tooth put in the middle so it stood out more, to impress the girls.
Reply:I liked Aunt Bee. Despite her never marrying and having no children of her own, Bee was naturally maternal.
Reply:My favorite was Opie. I especially liked the episode when Aunt Bee first came to take care of Andy and Opie and no matter what she did Opie didn't act like he wanted her there. So she finally gave up and packed up to leave and when she was getting into a cab Opie starts yelling, "We can't let her leave Pa !! She needs us !!!! lol
Reply:Barney of course.
Reply:Aunt Bee's my favorite. Her recipes in the Aunt Bee's Mayberry Cookbook are awesome.
Reply:They were all great, as they say, there is no way to order the superlative. What a great show that was, I still enjoy the re-runs even if I've seen them several times.
Reply:I liked Otis, he played a good drunk. My favorite episode was when Barney was trying to make Otis, Gomer and that old man deputies. That was hilarious! Oh, and when Barney would read poems to Juanita on the phone and Andy caught him!!!!!!! Wish they had that comedy back!!!!!
Reply:i love all the characters , but if i have to choose one it would be Floyd.
Reply:there were many good episodes but one of my favorites was
" Man in a Hurry. " proves there are good reasons to take time out and smell the roses.
in regards to a favorite character this is difficult because I liked all of them. but guess I would say " Mr. Sawyer " who considered Mayberry his home town even though he had never been there before. -- kind of reminds me how all of us would feel if we were fortunate to be able to visit and move there in real life.
Reply:Barney Fife
Reply:I loved Otis, he played the part very well. always thought he must have had a nip or two before they filmed because he just looked like the part.
Reply:I always thought Barney was the funniest, but I always had a soft spot for Aunt Bea because she reminded me of my great-Aunt Babe.
Reply:Barney, although all the characters were wonderful I loved the Deputy with the one bullet in his pocket.
I think one of my favorite episodes is the one that Barney bought a used car from the old lady who ran a stolen car ring with junk cars.
Reply:Aunt Bea. I want some of her pies.
Reply:i liked the whole cast. i do not remember which episode it was, but i thought it was really funny the way barney was talking to Andy about some problem they were having and barney said to Andy, "we got to nip it, nip it in the bud ". also the episode where aunt Bea bought all that cheaper meat and then the freezer broke.
Reply:Barney, was my favorite, I like the episode where he didn't weigh enough for the job and had to eat all the stuff to gain weight, I wish I could have a problem like that
Reply:Barney and Ernest T. Bass of course. And Opie was so cute on the early shows.
What a brilliant show. It is amazing how they could get away with having those slow conversations in the courthouse or on the front porch where seemingly nothing was happening. I don't know of any other TV show that did this.
We Tivo the early shows. We don't watch the ones that came after Barney left.
Reply:I love Opie.
Reply:I liked Barney too. THey all were such good wholesome shows. wish I could have the collection
Reply:I liked the school teacher.
Reply:Don Knotts and Andy Griffin
Reply:The lady who played Aunt Bee. BTW, if you drive through the business district of Los Olivos, California east of Santa Barbara and Michael Jackson's infamous "Dreamland Ranch", you might find yourself hitting the brakes and sitting behind the wheel in amazement. In front of you will be the main street of that show. It's where they filmed the exterior shots.
Reply:Barney makes me laugh the most especially when he flirts with the women on the phone. He thinks he is "all that". I enjoy that show.
Reply:Well, I've got a little bit of a lot of the characters in me.
At one time I was a rookie Policeman( Barney)
Grew into a smarter wiser Andy.
Down home country humor of Goober.
Have enjoyed my share of adult beverages like Otis
Am a better cook than Aunt Bea
and have a nasty mean streak in my like Ernest T. Bass
Reply:I liked Barney; I loved Andy; I identified with Opie because we're the same age.
My favorite episode was when Opie shot the mama bird with his slingshot and Andy made him raise the orphaned birds. When he releases them, I get all choked up. Awww....

What should i wear to this 80s party?
So Im going to an 80's party....I decided to go as flava Flav seeing as he came into the mix around 1987....Soo I got a clock chain and a viking helmet...What else shoul i wear...I was thinking all black with white shoes... Maybe buy some gold teeth, or some fake gold chains seeing as gold not platnium was "In" back then....Maybe pick up some Aviator sunglasses...Give me some ideas on what i should wear and where i can pick these items up...???????????
What should i wear to this 80s party?
If you're gonna be Flav, you have to be careful that you don't portray him NOW, as oppossed to the 80's image of him. High top sneaks, an all one color jumpsuit (track jacket and baggy track pant), in yellow or green would definitely look 80's, an try getting a cheesy clock for the chain that looks really old (go to a second hand store for that). Definitely research old pics of him to get the look down right. If all else fails, get some tight acid washed jeans with tapered ankles, rock some slip on vans, find a red leather jacket, smaller than you'd probably wear white shirt (or if you could find those that used to change color when you got hot, remember those?), and mousse up your hair. Have fun!
Reply:Flava wears bright colors such as red or purple jacket swith the matching pants. I believe he wears hats that matches his outfits. Try track suits, suits, or jersey with jeans. Don't forget the cane and have a bubbly personality. Flav is known to have ladies around him too. You can bring them or they will come to you.
Reply:Wear your shoes without the laces. That´s 80´s!

I cant take it anymore, gangster in the army??
I have been in the army for 13 years now and I have seen alot of changes over the last few years. Basic trainning changed from hard to easy, Gold teeth allowed while in uniform (the marines and navy have regulations to stop that but not the army) Soldier having more rights then their supervisors..I love being a soldier and doing whatever is asked of me, Standing tall and being sharp, professional. A leader, A NCO. I can not stand for this new army. What do we do when we go to iraq and a soldier is not trained to standard and it is left up to the leaders but when the soldier complains they when..How can I safe them? I want to quit..but I have 6 more years to go...any advice? My unit even has a gang with tattoos "Da Fam" Whats next.....
My worry is a soldier getting killed because he or she does not want to get down when told todo so and they get hit, or Soldiers not looking like soldiers marching along with gold teeth and flashing gang crap mixed in with soldier being true soldiers.
I cant take it anymore, gangster in the army??
i agree. the army is supposed to be a professional environment. its sad to see it being made into a playground for dirt bags.
Reply:Actually, in reference to the gold teeth issue, AR 670-1 states (when I last read it) that jewelry is t be limited to a watch and two rings. Nowhere does it allow gold teeth. My senior SGL made sure to point this out at PLDC.
As far as the new Army, I'm with you. Basically, someone has to get it back on track. May as well be you, right?
Reply:Amen, but as long as the numbers get low they will keep lowering the standards.
Reply:Sounds allot like the Army I was in, 62 - 65, won't go into details but it was a mess in more ways than one, Would say hang in as best can and get your Ben's Sarge.
Reply:i agree my mom was in the navy and the same things made her mad!
Reply:I think they significantly lower the standards during war just to make their numbers. Its a shame, I know right before I got out of the Marines(Jan 08) they were cracking down on Tattoos like crazy and were starting to have problems with gang members joining and operating within the Corps. I had to get out, to many S**t-bags were getting in.
Reply:I grew up wanting to be in the army. I'm currently 17 years old and with a lot of researching, I've found the army has started becoming a little embarrassing. The standards are set too low. The current physical requirements I would've made as a 13 or 14 year old. That's no exaggeration. I wanted to join the army and be proud that I'm doing something amazing. But even basic training looks like a summer camp. I'd rather have a smaller turn-out of recruits each year than to have a disgraced army. They should raise the standards to back where it used to be. Physical requirements I think should be greater than it used to be with all the more efficient training methods used today.
I'm joining the marines.
Reply:Sounds prejudice to me. Get out if you do not like it. Move on. What does gold teeth have to do with following orders(not that I like gold teeth) sounds little like you are talking about black people "DA FAM", "Gangsters" Sounds like you need some sensitivity training. Change with it or move on nothing stays the same good or bad.
Reply:Come on guy, stop whinning and fix-it. Are you a NCO or a SGT. A SGT will put up with crap like that, but an NCO will fix it. Your problem is not Army wide. Discipline must be instilled by the NCO. If you are not being supported, then you are either doing the wrong thing or you have an inept chain of command, either way, FIX-IT and stop whinning and making this great organization look bad.

My Bum is in a hell of a mess again, any advice?
I decided to bail my Bum out and paid the £4.30 he owed the loan shark but he has got himself into more trouble! He went to Short Sighted But Sadistic Sid's Pawn Shop and pawned 4 gold teeth for a tenner, he then went to Big Barry the Leg Breakers Bookie Shop and backed Newcastle to win the league, not only did he put the tenner on but he also got credit on his future earnings against having his legs broken if he lost the bet. He now has £10.73 riding on Newcastle at 3,000,000-1 which will win him £32,190,000, which he reckons will keep him in White Lightning for 3 weeks! There are 2 problems though, A: He never had any gold teeth, they were just yellow ones that Sid couldn't see properly and B: Heather Mills has more chance of getting her log-over with Sir Paul again than Newcastle have of winning the league! So which is it, do I help him out or do I let Barry break his legs and Sid have his sadistic way with him?
My Bum is in a hell of a mess again, any advice?

I would suggest giving a few hundred quid, a ticket to prague, and several bottles of absinth.

You have a professional job and are dating a man who illegally sells drugs and has a 10 year old child?
Girl, get it together. I say, MOVE ON before you end up in the slammer with him.
Reply:yo i think that if u feel u can make something work then yea give a guy a chance but if u feel a little shaky about things it might be best to move on
Reply:Lola's answer above is 100% right. The drug dealing is the deal killer.
Reply:You wont be able to change him. You as an idividual can't change a person. No, i dont think that you should pursue anything with this person. It seems like you have built up a very nice life for yourself. And You wouldn't want to put all that at risk because you have a crush on some kid that sells drugs. he may be cute. He may be "Brilliant", but until he acts like it, I would stay away!
Reply:oh sure give him the chance - i am sure you shall feel content
you did.Good luck.
Reply:meh...do the world a favor and turn him in for the drug dealing...maybe that will change him.
Reply:I don't think you should get too involved. But just keep it at friends. Friends have a lot of influence on friends, just don't let him change you though. And please don't start doing drugs. If you have a lot of fun then just stay as friends and have a lot of fun. But I wouldn't get involved in a relationship with him. I don't think it would work out. Plus its dangerous to get involved with all that stuff, if you know what I mean.

Is it wrong that i don't feel sorry?
An example is my boyfriends family. He complains about how they might be homeless soon and how they are struggling and are blaming other people. They are complaining on how people are racist and the white people don't like them because they are from New Orleans. I beg to differ. But then i realized, I saw his father who can't talk proper english, has gold teeth in his mouth and has low education skills; his cousin who also has gold teeth, smells like weed, you can barely understand his improper speach, and dropped out of high school. And now they are complaining on how the white man is't giving them jobs?? Hmm i wonder why. Also i've heard that after Katrina his father got $50,000 from the insurance and as soon as he did he blew in a week on sneakers, clothes and jewlery. And now they are complaining about others and can't pay their rent due to their own foolish choices?
Is it ok to NOT feel sorry for them?
and why should i feel sorry for others with this worped ghetto mentality??
Is it wrong that i don't feel sorry?
I wouldn't feel sorry for them.
Reply:It's awfully hard to be sorry when the people you're supposedly trying to help are basically accusing you of being a cruel, sadistic devil. Really gets your charity instincts going, doesn't it?
Reply:It has nothing to do with race. There are many people out there who do not make good choices and then blame everyone else but themselves. It's their problem---not yours.
As to the second part of your question, I think any employer, no matter what color he was, would not hire anyone who is unclean --unless the job might be for a sanitation worker. And without a high school education or a GED there are few jobs available to ANYONE.
Reply:But heres the thing: you dont have to like ANYONE if they are uneducated and ghetoo regardless of race.
But you come off really mean and you sound as if you dont like Blacks in general. I dont know if this is true but based off what you just said thats what Im guessing. Black people dont all have ghetto names and their not all high school dropouts. We dont all blow our money on weed and sneakers. I look like crap because my money is tied up in a college education.
I dont know what to tell you but your statement needs to be rephrased or something.
Reply:is this real it sounds like u made this up but if it is real...
I don't feel sorry for anyone who blows off 50thousand within a week...thats just foolish.
I do feel bad that he can't find a job...maybe he's looking in all the wrong places...come on if the American ppl can hire a bunch of illegal immigrants to work for them then they can hire someone who was born in this country
Also is a white person racist because they won't hire you due to you being a highschool dropp out, having discusting dreadlocks, a full grill in the mouth, has a first name of Laquanisha and can't say a sentence in understandable english? my bad, people are soo ""racist""??? Is it ok to not feel sorry??
what's wrong iwth having dreadlocks its just a hair style...and you're saying that a person shouldn't get hired at a certain job b/c of his/her name...do u even have black friends. It sounds like u need to think about what u just type...I wouldn't hire someone who mumbles but no one speaks "correct" english so I'll hire someone based on their skills and how they present themselve...I wouldn't hire someone if they were saggin and smelling like weed....but for the grill and all...that crap doesn't matter
Reply:Yes, it is OK not to feel sorry for people like this. They have created their own problems.
And $50,000 blown in one week on stupid sh!t? That makes me sick to my stomach. When you receive that kind of money, you should SAVE a large portion of it, float some and yes, blow a little of it, but not the whole wad. Damn.
ETA: It's not just black people who are like this. There was a show on people who won the lottery. The choices they made were unbelievable--and the majority of these winners were white.

Why do alot of black men think its cool to wear a "grill"?
Who here finds shiny gold teeth attractive? Not me, thats for sure. I have always wondered why some black men find grills appealing, I even ask a few black guys.
"It looks cool and women love it."
"I just do it"
Why? Then again its not as unattractive as tobbaco stained teeth or people who are messing numberous teeth 5+
Why do alot of black men think its cool to wear a "grill"?
i dont, cause when they do, its to bright. people dont know how to stick to one or two which are fine but they gotta get they whole mouth did. which is not cool to me. I think its another way to show people you got money when in actual reality your wasteing money.
Reply:Well I go to an HBCU and I haven't(yet) seen anyone with a grill(fake or not)
Reply:Stop looking at music videos. I havent seen one dude at my school with a freakin grill on......

Reply:i dont!! they are so ugly!!! its a way to show off all their money that they waste
Reply:The King of Grillz is a white man.
So much for stereotypes.
