Are most Blacks affluent? I notice that they tend to have the fanciest cars, flashiest clothes, attention-getting jewelry and latest cell phones. I've seem too many to count with a ring on every finger and mouth full of gold teeth. I go to so-called poor neighborhoods and see many things I will never be able to afford. These items are usually beyond the reach of the poor so I'm assuming Blacks are generally affluent nowadays. I assume that they have all these material trappings because their financial priorities are 100% in order. Is this assumption correct? Or am I being fooled by a kind of superficial consumerism perpetrated by those who are attempting to buy their own piece of the American dream?
Are most Blacks affluent?
LOL Funniest question I've seen all day! I believe the answer is not that their financial priorities are 100% in order but that the IRS makes sure mine are.
Reply:Drug dealers and car thieves don't pay taxes. So they have lots of cash available to buy fancy things.
Reply:where do you live............. only a certain percentage of african americans, are afluent, business men, entertainers. again if you are talking about USA then yes, if you are going to talk about africa, well similar situation, however, coruption plays a very big part in this.. they don't make it so honestly as you would in the USA. Well this is my opinion i might be wrong. I am just telling you what i have seen for myself
Reply:youve got to be kidding me, no, not at all, i can have a great car, but that means nothing because my house would be a shack. most black people who look like they have money, thats because they dont invest in ****. except for my family- we own a business. but really, its impossible to have splurge money without doing at least something thats illegal
Reply:they dont invest, they just spend it.
Reply:Stereotyping isn't dead.Thanks for the proof.
Reply:That’s funny because the last time I went to a mall I noticed people of all races driving expensive vehicles, talking on cell phones, and wearing designer clothing. Materialism, consumerism, and spending beyond one’s means are not problems unique to a specific race.
Reply:Ha,ha, me thinks you are having a little joke. It's a very clever way of saying a racist thing without actually saying it.(though I do agree with you).Lol
Reply:I must give you your kudos for your clever word play. You made an obviously racist statement and almost had me fooled. I know many blacks that have professional jobs and choose to live in "poor" sections to avoid racial predjudice from people like yourself. That also free's up money for them to live a little. I dont agree with it becuase I dont give a **** if the white people around me want me there or not it kind of gives me a sick pleasure to be around them. Your living proof racism will never go away
Reply:Blacks are the only ones trying to keep up with the Jones.
Reply:Trust me, I see people of ALL races who "seem" to afford the best car, the newest cell phone, hundred dollar jeans, etc, and live in a "poor" neighborhood. This is the most racist comment/question I have seen in a long time.
Reply:I have a friend who I tell this little tid-bit to all the time.
She always says: "Well, everyone else my age has...."
And I sigh, and oh so gently, yet again tell her:
JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE IT, DOESN'T MEAN THEY CAN AFFORD IT.
Reply:each person is different and just trying to be happy, and least i hope they want to be happier.
