Do you think rappers and most people that say they are a thug is too chiche today?

Today there are so many rappers and mostly teenagers that say they are thugs. Not to be against rappers and all, but it seems today that they say there thugs this and thugs that. The way I see it a REAL thug is the one that rob and kill people, they don't wear gold teeth, diamond rings, and necklaces. Real thugs and gangsters was back in the 1910's-30's when Al Capone and Gotti was still alive, they didn't own just one block on the street they owned the half of the city. Plus they didn't run from the police they owned the police. Now that's Gangsta!!!

I agree with Pamela O that there is too much thug life encouraged in rap music today. But I must correct ErinfromOZ for saying that rap music sales are at all time low. Hip-hop sales are at an all time HIGH. Hip-hop is a very popular music genera right now because of all of the sex and drugs and thugs. It's sad but true.

Reply:That's just one reason why I don't listen to rap often sadly. If you hear one gansta rap song you've heard them all. They say the same thing and I'm tired of it. Rappers can't be thugs anyway. The only one that was close to bein a thug was Tupac and Biggie. All of them are too busy now tryin to make more money and keep a good name so they won't get put in jail. The only time that I listen to rap is if it's doesnt have anything to do with bein gansta or how much money they got cause that's just bein a poser.

Reply:I feel you on that. BET had a series called "American Gangsta" and those guys are TRUE GANGSTAS!!! Cause a rapper is from the streets doesnt allow him to wear GANGSTA across his chest cause if he ran across one of those real OGs his aZZ would return home to his mamma crying. You can be a real GANGSTA and be a rapper cause for one you got to many people around you so Im sure a real OG dont trust a lot of people and for two when will you have time to be GANGSTA and you rapping on stage every night; when you should be putting work and time in the streets. I dont think the rap game as ever had a REAL TRUE GANGSTA. Maybe The Game is the closes cause I honestly feel he doesnt care about sh*t and might punch your teeth out if you cross him. Also to add another rapper I'll have to say Jezzy; I meet him a couple times and he's REAL ABOUT HIS!!
