Why can people not accept people being gay?

Homosexuality has been around for centuries. In the Shakespearian times, when they would have those play acts, little boys would play role of a female. So in todays standard that not only makes them homosexual. So why still in todays world are people still bigots about it? It's not like baggy pants and gold teeth. Homosexuality is going to be around forever, as it already has been.

Why can people not accept people being gay?
I practice acceptance of everyone myself. God's running things--Not me. If your good enough for him (and EVERYONE is his kids), you certainly just fine with me...It's all about the BIG LOVE! Kevin
Reply:Because they choose to be intolerant, mean, persumtuous, hating, rude, bible-belching bigots who are too bored with their own lives, so they have to make other people feel bad to make themselves feel better.
Reply:Because there will always be ignorant ppl out there, continuing hate because they are not happy w/ their own life and constantly want to bring others down.

Reply:Most people do not accept homosexuals because they believe it is some sort of a wierd fetish. They are taught from a very early age that homosexuals are not people and that it is ok to kill them. They are pressured to hurt others because thats all they grew up with. They have refused to accept science and go abound beating their matras of hatred because they have nothing better to do with their lives. They would rather worry themselves about two guys humping each other, rather than focusing on issues that affect every one such as unemployment and the war that we are fighting today.

Reply:Because people are afraid of what they don't understand, and also because they are afraid of what others will say if they actually broaden their perspective and see how hard it is to be gay. I use to hate myself for being gay, because everyone that I knew hated me for it. But, now I see it like this, if it doesn't effect you and who you are going to be with for the rest of your life, why should you even care? And if you aren't gay and have something bad to say about us, you should shut up, because you have no idea of the pain and suffering that we have to go through every day!!! As a matter of fact, most of you couldn't handle it, and would have a mental break down after one day in our lives!!! Most of us didn't choose to be this way, we were born like this, and yet, we are being punished for it!!!
Reply:There's all kinds of things other people won't accept about you. And by you I mean the general you, as in all of us. As soon as you realize that your life will be that much simpler.
Reply:Because they are intolerant and many are self-righteous and use the Bible to condemn gays. But except for those in the old testament, all the other verses are based on either the assumption that all humans are heterosexual or that those that are talk about in the New testament are those that were perceived to be heterosexual, though homosexuality was their natural state of sexual orientation. Also many are socialized to believe that heterosexuality is the norm and that homosexuality is totally wrong, that all that participate in such activity are sick and deserve to die.
