Who was your favorite actors'/actress' on Mayberry?

The original show, not Mayberry RFD. Mine was Barney and Ernest T. Bass. Did you have a favorite episode, or a favorite line? Mine was when Ernest T. Bass told the Army doctor he wanted his two front teeth pulled out, and a gold tooth put in the middle so it stood out more, to impress the girls.

Who was your favorite actors'/actress' on Mayberry?
Barney was my favorite character. Favorite episode was the time Opie had to learn the Preamble to the Constitution, and Barney tried to show he still knew it.
Reply:Ernest was my favorite cause of the courage he showed...it was cool.
Reply:I liked Barny and Opie the best. I liked the episode where Opie tried to sell his bike for five dollars and then Andy was pointing out the problems with the bike to the buyer, trying to teach Opie to be responsible. Then Andy put the house up for sale and when the potential buyers came over Opie started pointing out all the cracks and leaks, it was really funny.
Reply:Mine was Barney and Ernest T. Bass. My favorite line was when Ernest T. Bass told the Army doctor he wanted his two front teeth pulled out, and a gold tooth put in the middle so it stood out more, to impress the girls.
Reply:I liked Aunt Bee. Despite her never marrying and having no children of her own, Bee was naturally maternal.
Reply:My favorite was Opie. I especially liked the episode when Aunt Bee first came to take care of Andy and Opie and no matter what she did Opie didn't act like he wanted her there. So she finally gave up and packed up to leave and when she was getting into a cab Opie starts yelling, "We can't let her leave Pa !! She needs us !!!! lol
Reply:Barney of course.
Reply:Aunt Bee's my favorite. Her recipes in the Aunt Bee's Mayberry Cookbook are awesome.
Reply:They were all great, as they say, there is no way to order the superlative. What a great show that was, I still enjoy the re-runs even if I've seen them several times.
Reply:I liked Otis, he played a good drunk. My favorite episode was when Barney was trying to make Otis, Gomer and that old man deputies. That was hilarious! Oh, and when Barney would read poems to Juanita on the phone and Andy caught him!!!!!!! Wish they had that comedy back!!!!!
Reply:i love all the characters , but if i have to choose one it would be Floyd.
Reply:there were many good episodes but one of my favorites was

" Man in a Hurry. " proves there are good reasons to take time out and smell the roses.

in regards to a favorite character this is difficult because I liked all of them. but guess I would say " Mr. Sawyer " who considered Mayberry his home town even though he had never been there before. -- kind of reminds me how all of us would feel if we were fortunate to be able to visit and move there in real life.
Reply:Barney Fife
Reply:I loved Otis, he played the part very well. always thought he must have had a nip or two before they filmed because he just looked like the part.
Reply:I always thought Barney was the funniest, but I always had a soft spot for Aunt Bea because she reminded me of my great-Aunt Babe.
Reply:Barney, although all the characters were wonderful I loved the Deputy with the one bullet in his pocket.

I think one of my favorite episodes is the one that Barney bought a used car from the old lady who ran a stolen car ring with junk cars.
Reply:Aunt Bea. I want some of her pies.
Reply:i liked the whole cast. i do not remember which episode it was, but i thought it was really funny the way barney was talking to Andy about some problem they were having and barney said to Andy, "we got to nip it, nip it in the bud ". also the episode where aunt Bea bought all that cheaper meat and then the freezer broke.
Reply:Barney, was my favorite, I like the episode where he didn't weigh enough for the job and had to eat all the stuff to gain weight, I wish I could have a problem like that
Reply:Barney and Ernest T. Bass of course. And Opie was so cute on the early shows.

What a brilliant show. It is amazing how they could get away with having those slow conversations in the courthouse or on the front porch where seemingly nothing was happening. I don't know of any other TV show that did this.

We Tivo the early shows. We don't watch the ones that came after Barney left.
Reply:I love Opie.
Reply:I liked Barney too. THey all were such good wholesome shows. wish I could have the collection
Reply:I liked the school teacher.
Reply:Don Knotts and Andy Griffin
Reply:The lady who played Aunt Bee. BTW, if you drive through the business district of Los Olivos, California east of Santa Barbara and Michael Jackson's infamous "Dreamland Ranch", you might find yourself hitting the brakes and sitting behind the wheel in amazement. In front of you will be the main street of that show. It's where they filmed the exterior shots.
Reply:Barney makes me laugh the most especially when he flirts with the women on the phone. He thinks he is "all that". I enjoy that show.
Reply:Well, I've got a little bit of a lot of the characters in me.

At one time I was a rookie Policeman( Barney)

Grew into a smarter wiser Andy.

Down home country humor of Goober.

Have enjoyed my share of adult beverages like Otis

Am a better cook than Aunt Bea

and have a nasty mean streak in my like Ernest T. Bass
Reply:I liked Barney; I loved Andy; I identified with Opie because we're the same age.

My favorite episode was when Opie shot the mama bird with his slingshot and Andy made him raise the orphaned birds. When he releases them, I get all choked up. Awww....
