Are gold crowns available on the nhs?

I was attacked and have had my front tooth chipped away and am now told that i will have to have a crown put over it, however i was wandering will i be able to get a gold crown instead of a white one.

Are gold crowns available on the nhs?
If you're black, gay or Muslim, you probably qualify for a full set here in England
Reply:Gold is not an option on the NHS
Reply:no...doubt it very much
Reply:No you have to pay for the gold crown and unless you have an exemption card you have to pay something towards a crown think it's about £60
Reply:If your under 18 yes. but it depends on your dentist .
Reply:only for east European Gipsy's
Reply:gold in colour crowns are available on the nhs at the price of £189 (band 3) but not on the front tooth. if your are requesting a gold tooth on the front tooth you would have to pay private which can vary from each dentist. for example at my practice in bham we charge £300. but it depends on your dentist. white crowns are for teeth 1-3 and gold 4-8.if you wanted different to this then you can at a fee as this is for cosmetic reason.

hope this helped
