Can i get sued by the misfits?

i just edited a picture of the misfits skull





i gave it gold teeth (pretty funny, huh?).





if i put it on the internet, can i get sued?

No, it would be fair use as long as your not profiting from it or damaging their image.





The skull used in vintage Misfits art is from the 1930's movie serial 'Crimson Ghost' however in the 90's Jerry altered it enough so that it now is a legally different and copyrighted image.

Reply:this company called diamond did that for t shirts, but they were told to stop, and now the t shirts are worth a bundle. the company didnt get sued, but were told to stop, so i dont think u 'll get sued

as long as you are not using the image for a profit, fair use should apply. artists have successfully used micky mouse.

Reply:I don't see how, the "Misfits" skull is actually the mask The Crimson Ghost from the 1946 movie serial of the same name.





If anything, the makers of that movie could sue them as well.
