he two years younger than me which is no big deal, he has a 10 years old kid, he sells dru.gs, he has gold teeth, he wears caps ,tennis, and teeshirts daily. he is so smart and intelligent but he wont give his positive side a chance. he is a artist and has a brilliant mind. im totally different. i dress up with heels and button up shirts. i hate gold teeth because it sterotype people and it makes you look cheap. i have a professional job where i wear suits. what should i do i like him but we are way to different? i want to try and change him but maybe i cant. he has alot of good ideas! please help me im stuck

Reply:I don't think you should get too involved. But just keep it at friends. Friends have a lot of influence on friends, just don't let him change you though. And please don't start doing drugs. If you have a lot of fun then just stay as friends and have a lot of fun. But I wouldn't get involved in a relationship with him. I don't think it would work out. Is it wrong that i don't feel sorry?

An example is my boyfriends family. He complains about how they might be homeless soon and how they are struggling and are blaming other people.They are complaining on how people are racist and the white people don't like them because they are from New Orleans. I beg to differ. But then i realized, I saw his father who can't talk proper english, has gold teeth in his mouth and has low education skills; his cousin who also has gold teeth, smells like weed, you can barely understand his improper speach, and dropped out of high school. And now they are complaining on how the white man is't giving them jobs?? Hmm i wonder why. Also i've heard that after Katrina his father got $50,000 from the insurance and as soon as he did he blew in a week on sneakers, clothes and jewlery. And now they are complaining about others and can't pay their rent due to their own foolish choices?

As to the second part of your question, I think any employer, no matter what color he was, would not hire anyone who is unclean --unless the job might be for a sanitation worker. And without a high school education or a GED there are few jobs available to ANYONE.

Who here finds shiny gold teeth attractive? Not me, thats for sure. I have always wondered why some black men find grills appealing, I even ask a few black guys.

well what this really is is giving them all the jobs. forget experience - if you are non white you will get the job. how can this be right?


just today i saw this man in tesco with his big shopping trolly full of food. You could see what type he was: the gold tooth / heavy fragrance brigade. But this one was dressed up in a business suit.


He did not look right in a business suit. he looked like he was up to no good.


There I was with my boy, skimping and picking what I could afford to buy - and this one in his fancy suit with his fancy gold chains and teeth had his full shopping trolly.


I told my boy he probably got his office job from some affirmative action program. I think its wrong that we are denied employment while they seem to get what they want.

I cant take it anymore, gangster in the army??

I have been in the army for 13 years now and I have seen alot of changes over the last few years. Basic trainning changed from hard to easy, Gold teeth allowed while in uniform (the marines and navy have regulations to stop that but not the army) Soldier having more rights then their supervisors..I love being a soldier and doing whatever is asked of me, Standing tall and being sharp, professional. A leader, A NCO. I can not stand for this new army. What do we do when we go to iraq and a soldier is not trained to standard and it is left up to the leaders but when the soldier complains they when..How can I safe them? I want to quit..but I have 6 more years to go...any advice? My unit even has a gang with tattoos "Da Fam" Whats next.....


My worry is a soldier getting killed because he or she does not want to get down when told todo so and they get hit, or Soldiers not looking like soldiers marching along with gold teeth and flashing gang crap mixed in with soldier being true soldiers.

Reply:Actually, in reference to the gold teeth issue, AR 670-1 states (when I last read it) that jewelry is t be limited to a watch and two rings. Nowhere does it allow gold teeth. My senior SGL made sure to point this out at PLDC.

Reply:I think they significantly lower the standards during war just to make their numbers. Its a shame, I know right before I got out of the Marines(Jan 08) they were cracking down on Tattoos like crazy and were starting to have problems with gang members joining and operating within the Corps. I had to get out, to many S**t-bags were getting in.
Reply:I grew up wanting to be in the army. I'm currently 17 years old and with a lot of researching, I've found the army has started becoming a little embarrassing. The standards are set too low. The current physical requirements I would've made as a 13 or 14 year old. That's no exaggeration. I wanted to join the army and be proud that I'm doing something amazing. But even basic training looks like a summer camp. I'd rather have a smaller turn-out of recruits each year than to have a disgraced army. They should raise the standards to back where it used to be. Physical requirements I think should be greater than it used to be with all the more efficient training methods used today.





I'm joining the marines.

Discipline must be instilled by the NCO.
