Trying to find a Movie...?

I guess it was around the late 90's, took place in England somewhere. And it had this British rock star or punk rocker in it, a black guy with gold teeth and on the muscular side.

Alot of ganster type stuff, shooting blood and such. Oh... I think David Bowie made an appearence although it's not listed on his filmology list.

Anyone know?

Why has rap music turned into nothing but sex, money, and drugs. Why does it preach violence and hatred?

Rap music today has changed alot during the past years. Why is it now about sex, drugs, money...when before it was about opening the eyes of the blind and seeing what life was like for people who dealt with racial discrimination, violence, ect... I feel as though rap has lost its real roots and turned into something fake. You see people walking down the street with gold teeth and shirts to thier knees. I want to know why it is that people seem as though they have to follow that...

Why has rap music turned into nothing but sex, money, and drugs. Why does it preach violence and hatred?
they have eyes to see, but they do not see. they are catering to the unfortunate common condition of man-kind.

hatred and "kill 'em all" attitude". they even go so far as to degrade their own race by frequent use of the word "******" in referring to themselves or other dark skinned peoples. And THAT word is TRULY degrading as it especially refers to SUB-HUMAN species...it's sad, and needs

to be dealt with.

Can i get sued by the misfits?

i just edited a picture of the misfits skull

i gave it gold teeth (pretty funny, huh?).

if i put it on the internet, can i get sued?

Can i get sued by the misfits?
No, it would be fair use as long as your not profiting from it or damaging their image.

The skull used in vintage Misfits art is from the 1930's movie serial 'Crimson Ghost' however in the 90's Jerry altered it enough so that it now is a legally different and copyrighted image.

Here's a pic of the Tshirt mentioned:

Reply:this company called diamond did that for t shirts, but they were told to stop, and now the t shirts are worth a bundle. the company didnt get sued, but were told to stop, so i dont think u 'll get sued
Reply:anybody can sue anybody

as long as you are not using the image for a profit, fair use should apply. artists have successfully used micky mouse.

you can see some fair use artists here:

Reply:I don't see how, the "Misfits" skull is actually the mask The Crimson Ghost from the 1946 movie serial of the same name.

If anything, the makers of that movie could sue them as well.

Why would you be called racist if....?

I am white. And I will not allow my children to play with most black kids. My reason is NOT because they are black, it's simply because I do not like the way they talk. I don't want my child learning how to talk using words like "Dis" "Dat" "Foo". I want her to talk like an educated child. I don't want her listening to rap, I don't want her thinking that women are referred to as "B!tches" and "Hoes". It's basically about a certain lifestyle that I do not want her to be comfortable with. I wont allow her to play with any type of children that act or speak like this, but I have been called racist because of this reason. I am admitting that yes I do tend to stay away from people that act like this and it just happens to be they are black. I can't stand anyone that thinks it's cool to be obnoxious, and talk like they are retarded. I don't like the gold teeth, I don't like the huge "bling." Why is that called racism?

Why would you be called racist if....?
I don't think you're a racist.

Black people are alienating themselves by being anti-social and developing sub-culture of their own.

But you have to be careful not to teach your kids to be racist. Make sure they don't grow up thinking all black kids are sub-standard.

Bad music?

What will happen if suddenly there is no more chains, hoes, boody, sneakers, gold teeth, bad dressing, and obsenities to sing about?

I am just curious because all lazy azz holes without creativity base their lyrics on these drab music.

Is any one else sick?

Bad music?
that's being fairly judgemental... and you are stereotyping one genre of music... if you delve deeper into other genres you will realize that they all have certain things that reoccur in songs... which doesn't necessarily make the songs bad... it's just the culture behind them...
Reply:Lol- I think I see your point. We'd all have to listen to some great prog rock! :)

Reply:Well what may be "drab" to one person is someone elses entertainment. Thats what its all about..maybe all the "chians, hoes, boody, sneakers, etc." is whats important to those singers..and who are we to say anything about what they choose to sing about? To them, they're already making the big dollars and they really dont care what they sing about. Its the public.."us" who keep buying thier albums and listen to them "expressing" themselves..
Reply:You are stereotyping and being judgemental, yes....

But you're right. LOL

I like a lot of rap music, but usually I only listen to it for the beats. I don't want to hear about p.i.m.p.s gettin hoes and asz every time I turn on channel 50. I find it offensive, because since that's all they ever rap about 95% of the time, it seems like that's all they want women for, like that's all they're worth. I could never be one of those girls dancing in a rap video. I have more self-esteem than that, and prefer to impress people with a hell of a lot more than booty-shaking and acting like a prostitute. That's fine if you're in a club, or if you're really like that and like to have fun dancing BUT GIRLS AREN'T LIKE THAT. Surprise. It's giving out a false sense of girls being "easy" if you ask me.

What happened to rap?
rap is not about content anymore, it is about style now. lil wayne is the best rapper now because the literary style he uses is unique- the content of his rap is crap, irrelevant, and makes no sense -"so high i can eat a star?" -but his unique use of metaphor and analogy is second to none.

Which band has the most well-written, creative lyrics?

I'm an English teacher, so I love good writing--use of metaphors, analogies, aliteration, etc.

The Shins, in my opinion, have incredible lyrics.

Sample:

"Gold teeth and a curse for this town were all in my mouth.

Only, I don't know how they got out, dear.

Turn me back into the pet that I was when we met.

I was happier then with no mind-set. "

Anyway, what band's lyrics intrigue you? Have a sample?

Which band has the most well-written, creative lyrics?
I'm going to have to go with the older collection of Bright Eyes. If I were an English teacher, I would eat it up. Let me see what I can find...

June on the West Coast:

"I spent a day dreaming of dying in Mesa, Arizona

Where all the green of life had turned to ash,

And I felt I was on fire, with the things I could have told you,

I guess I just assumed that you eventually would ask,

And I wouldn’t have to bring up my so badly broken heart

And all those months I just wanted to sleep

And though spring, it did come slowly, I guess it did it's part

My heart has thawed and continues to beat."

I missed it the first time, but when I found out the writer of this had a bad cocaine addiction, it all became clear.

A Scale, A Mirror and those Indifferent Clocks:

"And it’s inadequate to describe where I am

In the room of my house

Where the light has never been

Waiting for this day to end

And these clocks keep unwinding

And completely ignore

Everything that we hate or adore

Once the page of a calendar is turned it’s no more

So tell me, then, what was it for?

Oh, tell me, what was it for?"

And my personal favorite, "If Winter Ends"

"I dreamt of a fever,

One that would cure me of this cold, winter set heart

With heat to melt these frozen tears

And burned with reasons as to carry on.

Into these twisted months I plunge without a light to follow,

But I swear that I would follow anything

If it would just get me out of here.

And so you get six months to adapt,

And then you get two more to leave town.

In the event that you do adapt

We still might not want you around.

And I fell for the promise of a life with a purpose

But I know that that is impossible now,

And so I drink to stay warm

And to kill selected memories

Because I just can’t think anymore about that or about her tonight.

I give myself three days to feel better

Or I swear I'll drive right off a ******* cliff

Because if I can’t make myself feel better

Then how can I expect anyone else to give a ****?

And I scream for the sunlight or a car to take me anywhere

Just get me past this dead and eternal snow

Because I swear that I am dying, slowly, but it's happening

So if there is a perfect spring that’s waiting somewhere

Just take me there --

and lie to me and say it’s going to be all right,

It's going to be all right, yeah, you worry too much, kid

It's going to be all right."
Reply:The Godfather of lyrics would have to be Bob Dylan.

How many roads must a man walk down

Before you call him a man

How many seas must a white dove sail

Before she sleeps in the sand

Yes and how many times must the cannonballs fly

Before they're forever banned

The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind

The answer is blowin' in the wind

Leonard Cohen is also most excellent.
Reply:I currently love the lyrics of the Cold War Kids:

"Slither to sea, speakin' in tongues.

Deft as a surgeon's knife carvin' through bone.

Pregnant with doubt, you figured out tricks of the trade to make whispers shout.

Mouth full of sweets rottin' your teeth,

lift up the rug and sweep it underneath."

I don't know exactly what it is I just love the imagery, especially the line: "Deft as a surgeon's knife cavin' through bone."

It sort of reminds me of a nursery rhyme, except for adults...plus the music lends itself to this idea.

(Creation Through Destruction)

Night surrounds me,

As I sit alone,

In the indecipherable darkness.

I smell the noise of past.

Vivacity of the wind begets clear my mind.

In eternal isolation.

Those that pretend to care, kill you,

And leave you for being dead.

I seek, for where am I?

The throes of death swirl within me,

And I smile.....

Life, raped by disease.

Cast out.

No place for me here.

I create my kingdom.

Creation through destruction,

Cut out the heart of the Christian disease.

Knowledge my fortune,

I channel the strength of my will.

The lure of the moonlight,

Streams forth, with abundance of strength.

I bask in it's essence,

Devouring the force,

Succouring my veins.

I traverse to the beckon of my desire.

Destruction.

This stagnant humanity serves only to frustrate.

Unfit to stand alone, huddled in their masses,

Synonymous in their worthless existence.

The time will come to pass.

Creation of life,

Destruction of the disease.

-

(The Blood of the Eyes)

I have not seen myself for ages.

This empty shell cares no longer for life.

Slowly replacing the flesh with steel,

So that I may carry on...

Unfettered by this mortality.

The air no longer carries favour,

The water that passes these lips

Keeps only this mortal shell alive.

For hope has been not here,

Nor raised in it's form.

And all is lost again.

Eradicate the shadows, That dements these thoughts.

And if I were to enter slumber?

Only sleep, guarded by a sense I may never wake,

Slipping into narcoleptic state.

Seas of tormented bliss,

Ebb away from these barren shores.

Nothing remains.

Only pieces of this intimate jigsaw

...And 'tis upon me again.

The clock ticks on

And still I remain.

Death wrenched upon my eyes,

To the birth of a second sight.

Visions surround,

The haze of my labyrinth,

Angles of dimensions unreal, unseen.

Blood, in the deep of my eyes,

Fires within the mountain.

'Tis within my grasp.

The point that will shall eventually reach,

And shall have no return

Why are white americans so afraid of racial issues?

i mean when they have to look at themselves and their PARENTS and their GRANDparents they want to shy away.i know it is not for everyone to like everyone else, but you want non whites to LOVE you.you guys are great and we will always be some kind of passing fad...until yall(wf) think that you cant live without it. some ( white folks)dont even have you( non white folks ) on their radar. should i just be concerned about my welfare check, my gold teeth, my 6 babies,my 10 grand babies, my crack pipe, my 40,and who i like more 50 cent or kanye west?( i kid... but seriously?!!!)

why are yall still scared to talk about it?i think if you werent scared some of our issues as a nation would be solved.( not all but a few)

just askin.

Why are white americans so afraid of racial issues?
You know, I've always been very liberal and progressive. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and thought the rest of the country thought like us (shock when I realized that was false!), but it wasn't until college that I feel I really understood racial history in our country. Ethnic Studies classes changed my world, the concept is basically decolonizing history, which I think is great and I wish everyone could take the time to learn about our racial history, and how racial categories formed. It wasn't until the Chinese came here, over one hundred years ago, that the Italians were finally able to be seen as white, because they were able to position themselves against the Chinese as an "other". Anyway, what I'm trying to say is INSTITUTIONALIZED RACISM. If you don't know what that means, learn it. In a college class we had to narrow down police applications without knowing race or gender. We followed the criteria given, and after narrowing it down to a small number they all turned out to be male and white. This was not because minorities were lesser qualified, but rather the very wording of the application and the criteria selection favors white men. Same results have been shown by the SAT's. Many people don't realize the police as an institution came in to being to police the recently freed slaves. Many former plantations were turned into jails, and many freed slaves ended back on the plantation as legal slaves. Obviously this sets a tone between blacks and the police. Something that continues today.

I could go on, but institutionalized racism is real, but you have to be able to critically look at the past to truly understand it. When you understand it, it sheds some light on the current state of racism or the denial of it.

Person # 2 up there is a case in point.
Reply:They arent afraid. They just say what they really feel behind your back.
Reply:race will not be solved till the black man stops thinking the white man owes him something. stop bringing up the race card get a job raise your kids talk like you have a little education and take responsibility for your actions then and only then will there ever be a road leading to end racism it must start with you
Reply:I do have nonwhites that loves me. I dont need reassurance from everyone. We are individuals. just like you.
Reply:I am from Ireland but lived in GA for some time and yes I noticed it.

A friend ( who became an ex friend ) actually demanded that a air steward changed her seat because she was seated next to a black person!

I was disgusted.
Reply:M%26amp;M, you go girl. One added point. Yes, slavery was wrong but I

had nothing to do with it. You behave as if it were the current thing. It's not, it's over. Move on.
Reply:The fact that we are even in speaking of each other in "they" and "them" should speak volumes alone.

America has become extremely soft in society and wants to hide when it comes to this issue.

To be completely honest with Rev AL's running around out there do you blame them?

It seems to be a very harsh double standard that it is 'ok' to make "honky" jokes but use the N word and call out the troops.

Honestly everyone should just unfold their arms and loosen up.

However you cannot ignore the fact that this double standard is alive and well and every time you turn on the TV and here about a Police shooting or any shooting your praying that it was not black on white or white on black etc.

Why?

As if it is ok if a another black shoots another black or a white man killing another white man.

We ignore the fact that the killing is whats wrong and we are fueled by the race card.

It's pathetic. In the forum of comedy it has become an absolute joke. White jokes are ok black jokes are wrong.

Double standards exists everywhere not just in race. Perfect example is:

A Male School teacher has sex with a student. He is looked at as an animal and thrown in jail

A Female School teacher has sex with a student and it is looked as an "issue" and the teacher is sent to rehab.

For some reason it is taken way more lightly.

I can go on and on but to wrap up this question I can honestly tell you with all my heart that so long as humans walk the earth they will always be different from one another and anything different then what your used to is considered to be a threat.

Now going back to rev Al, he is just a moron and gives all black people a bad rap. He is the black community's worst nightmare.

Any plans to break stereo types are squashed by the Rev.

He is the biggest racists on this planet towards white people, oh wait thats right - thats ok.

Yeah I guess he is not so bad after all then huh?

What a joke.
Reply:I don't think that White folks are afraid to talk about racial issues. Its just that, to us, theres alot of things ahead of that. Even when I'm talking with black friends, we don't talk about race. We're talking about our families, jobs, cars etc. We're talking about everyday life.

If you seriously expect a person of any race to accept constant put downs, even if they have a basis in fact, you're going to be disappointed.
Reply:I've been around a long time..so long that the issue of race is rather exhausting to discuss. You'd think we could've made real progress in the last 40 years, but it seems to still be a hot topic. I'm certainly not afraid to defend my sincere opinion on a racial issue. There are so many of us white folks who really have a deeper understanding than you may imagine, but there's no banner we can wave to really identify ourselves. We can only quietly and gently try to make a difference in our daily encounters and conversations and vote our conscience.
Reply:I am certainly not, I married my wife and she had 3 mixed children of her own and I raised them as my own and they have all had children and they are mixed race. Not all of us whites are stereo types of th kkk, after all alot of white people died to free the blacks and are still working hard to insure their continued freedom. we should all be so lucky as to be color blind, perhaps peace would follow.
Reply:it depends on the person, i think most white people are scared that they will sound racist and when you think about it most do. i live in Texas and in the city i live their is a good mix of all races but when i went to visit gatesville Texas i got into a huge fight with a white girl because i told her she was raciest. she was telling me how when she went to high school the school would bus in black student to play on their sports teams but didn't allow the black students to attend the school. when i told her that it was wrong for her to Evan think that was OK she got upset and disagreed saying that the whole town felt the same way. the argument got so heated that she decided to put her hands on me and found out that no matter how far back her town or her mind was set if u whip a ***** these days the ****** going to whip your *** back
Reply:because they are threaten from their superior status: status as the majority. political influence they have on politicians in their pockets.
Reply:Well, you've said a mouthful but in your verbal diarrhea you clearly make me feel "you" are scared of racial issues. So restate your question and substitute the word "black" for the word "white" and then answer the question. You'd be surprised what you will learn about yourself.

Racial is a word that means different things to different beings. Cats are racial towards dogs. Snakes towards mice. Nesting birds to intruders, etc. Get my drift.

That's life. When a person subtracts "racial" fears from their behavior or conversation, then progress will be made. Until the the minimum wager, highly paid or homeless person who exhibits these criticisms stops feeling sorry for their "stead" in life they will remain complainers. These people show themselves as racial and socio-economic level has nothing to do with it. Usually these people "blame" everything and anyone because of their unfulfilled dreams. They usually lack motivation to raise themselves from their present "stead" and move up and out of the "hood". It is so much easier to complain, complain, complain. To do something about it takes guts, determination and motivation. Most complainers have neither.
Reply:I don't believe that they are afraid, but must be sick of being blamed for the failures of American Blacks.

Blacks tend to be over sensitive and over defensive in regard to race issues and that makes us combative. No one wished to talk about sensitive issues with a defensive, combative, emotional person.
Reply:We're not afraid to address the issue, we are just tired of being instantly labeled "racist" when we do.
Reply:To answer the first part of the question, because this is still, secretly, a racist society. We are making some progress, but it's slow going. Hundreds upon hundreds of years of extreme racsim is going to take some time to undo. For those of us who don't consider ourselves racists, and try not to harbor prejudice, we are aware that it's a touchy subject. It's tough to address issues of race without acknowledging differences between the races. Acknowledging differences often leads to charges of racism. So we just don't talk about it and leave the elephant in the room.

As for the rest of your question, I am not entirely sure what you are talking about, what you mean by a "passing fad" or what adopted Chinese babies have to do with it.

Stalked through the jungle near Coba - anyone with a similar experience?

My boyfriend and I were recently traveling in the Coba ruins in the Yucatan Jungle. We got to the end of one of the main trails and saw a jungle trail leading WAY out into the jungle that we thought might be cool.

We walked out a few miles without seeing anything and when we turned around, we discovered that a man hiding under thatched-together palm had been stalking us through the jungle. We literally saw a blanket of palm coming around a corner towards us.

When we saw it and gasped, it stopped and ran in the other direction (probably because it noticed us). We had no way to go but back (where the palm-person had just gone) and when we got to the mouth of the trail there was a man standing there with a whip and about 5 gold teeth. He was speaking in some other language - Mayan maybe? - and we sprinted away, back towards the main trails.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I'm wondering if I should report this to someone.

A few years ago I had the pleasure of dining at at one of Trinidad's best food establishments, KFC. The line re-defines the term "fast-food" . So I am #6 in line. The people in front of me include (real names not used)..

BEAULAH: the worlds first person to donate a stomach to a dying cow (who already has three stomachs) and still maintain a healthy size 92 waist

SHENIQUA: complete with gold teeth, weave and powdered chest

JAH CURRY: the confused indian with a 'proud to be black' T-shirt on

NOTORIOUS D. I. G: apparently a very good miner, searching deep within the nasal cavity for hidden treasure.

POOR DIDDY: covered in bling from Opnet and Guccie (yes thats how it was spelt on the shades he had on) oversize sunglasses.

1. all have big lips .

2. all like chicken .

3. all are ghetto .

4. all have big butts .

5. all go to church .

6. all are poor .

7. all like in the projects .

8. all have gold teeth .

Reply:You can try some of the famous rappers. Also, try people like Will Smith or other actors. I would say Sen. Obama, but he's half-white.
Reply:#1. Look at some pictures of actresses. Halle Berry and Vanessa Williams come to mind.

#2. I don't know how you could find out if someone doesn't like chicken. Ask around? My mother and aunt wouldn't touch it, but they were Italian, so that doesn't help. They raised them as children and thought of them as pets.

3. I'm not sure what you mean by ghetto, but Roscoe Lee Brown was a very elegant, well educated, dignified actor. James Earl Jones, again very dignified. Paul Winfield was a Shakespearean actor.

4. I guess you're going to have to look at some pictures. The first person to come to mind for me was Judith Jamison from the Alvin Ailey Ballet. She had an exquisite body, perfect for a ballerine. I couldn't find a good picture for her. Maybe you can, or one of Raven Wilkinson, another ballerina. Katherine Dunham and Josephine Baker might be candidates for this category.

5. There's a book called African American Atheists and Political Liberation, something like that. I can't remember the author, but I think it's from the University of Florida Press.

6. There are tons of examples of athletes, musicians and actors who are rich.

7. Except the ones who live in mansions and regular houses. Do you know some African American people who live in your town?

8. I'm sitting next to two people who don't have gold teeth right now. But they're not famous.

9. How about Clarence Thomas, supreme court justice?

10. Go back to #3. Who knows what people do when they out of the public eye? I'd hate to have 24 hours scrutiny. I just can't imagine James Earl Jones saying anything except the King's English.

Plant question

Your type of music?

I just wanted to know what type of music my LGBT brothers and sisters were into. So tell me, what artists and/or types of music do you like, and why, and what types of music you dislike?

i like:

David Bowie, Bob Dylan, the Velvet Underground, Nico, Joy Division, The Smiths, Interpol, the Killers, Devendra Banhart, Beck, Metric., Johnny Cash, Serge Gainsbourg, La Ley, Caifanes, etc.

I guess I prefer rock music (especially the older ones), because I find it much more creative than other genres. I personally don't like rap (actually I hate it with a passion) because it's too offensive and homophobic for my tastes. I'd rather hear a song about a heroin addiction than a bunch of dudes dressed up in gold jewelry and gold teeth "sing" about how tough their life was in the ghetto and how they love/hate bitches and ho's

Your type of music?
Metal/Punk/Rock are my faves. I used to be a drummer in a punk band back in high school and college.

I also dislike "gangsta" and "thug" rap. I don't like the message it sends out. The old-skool hip hop was cool, way back in the 80's; they had something new and fresh.
Reply:i love metal \m/
Reply:i am 20 years old but i am old school i like the 70's 80's music better than all the rest ...
Reply:I have very eclectic tastes...anything from traditional Irish to techno. For me to like something, it has to have lyrical or melodic value. Often, even if I don't like the quality of the singer's voice, I may like the lyrics enough to become a fan- Julie Miller and Sam Phillips spring to mind here. I loathe rap and hip-hop anything...because to me, they lack in any kind of value or beauty in the lyrics and melodies.
Reply:A little bit of everything, except country, that's just bleeurgh. I used to be a fan of kd lang but her music is all torch and no twang these days, it's awful. I'm an 1980's teenager so a lot of music from that era still appeals to me. I don't have a favourite singer/band at the moment, but I do listen to a lot of music.
Reply:jenny lewis
Reply:I like techo, trance, dance music, big beat ( e.g. Fat Boy Slim , Chemical Brothers ) , some of the hip-hop, synth-pop, rock and ballets , also Broadway Music , Latin America music Classical Music, Italian pop , europop

But my all time favourite is Enrique.

He ROCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:I like the bravery, muse, Garbage, yeah yeah yeahs, emilie simon, camille, franz ferdinand, the cardigans, alanis morisette, madonna, duran duran and many more.

I dont think music taste has anything to do with ur sexuality.

To many to list!
Reply:i like bowie, and dylan too, i like all kinds of music, well, most, i like 50's,60's, 70's, 80's and some 90's rock, i like country, raggae, bluegrass, jazz, blues, earlier metal, early punk... and very few of the newer rock, rap, death metal etc. i'm very easy to get along with in the musical sense!
Reply:I love any thing with a beat,

I Like Madonna,Britney,Rihanna,PCD,P!NK,Beyonce... Moore,Lenney Kraivz,Alicia Keys,Fantasia,Carrie Underwood,Kelly Clarkson,Leann Rimes,John Mayer,Johnny Cash,Really I like any Music
Reply:90's Euro Dance

Where can I find an honest Dentist?

http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_203...

A Florida man claims someone reached into his mouth and stole his gold teeth as he slept.

Bryan Osteen, of Mims, Brevard Country, rang police to complain about the theft, reports Local6.com News.

Osteen told officers that someone entered his bedroom and took the £40 teeth out of his mouth.

He said he had friends at his home and believes one of them had something to do with the crime.

Osteen said he did not wake up because he is a heavy sleeper, according to a Brevard County Sheriff's Office report.

Are white boys more attracted to their own race?(honest question)?

Im mean....i exsept all races...i acually find white boys sweet and generous....but some how i always attract the wrong kind...the kind that have gold teeth...pants sagging...talkin with "yo dog" in every sentence.....do white boys not enjoy the a young beautiful brown skinned lady(does she have to thin like a tooth pick)...i mean i dont have weve in my hair...my hair is mine...lol....long and light bronze...my eyes may not be blue but they are light brown.....i dont understand it...are white boys more attracted to their own race?...i go to a mostly white school. and they walk by me...but when i went to the city school....they were all over me like i was food...lol...what is it?

Are white boys more attracted to their own race?(honest question)?
I can't speak for all White males, but yes I'm more attracted to White females then non-White females.
Reply:Why would you want them anyway, I'd be happy if they didn't want me, girl you are lucky :)

I'm being serious.
Reply:most white guys are attracted to fair skin but that doesn't mean they aren't attracted to other races either. i think a beautiful woman no matter what race will capture a guy's attention.
Reply:In the city they were all over you,,, Sounds to me like you are in the company of a little better educated group of white guys. Certainly they will prefer girls of their own kind.
Reply:We guys are strange creatures... As for preference for race.. over here my "race" would call me a lamington if they new. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamington

I could seek out other lamingtons and make little baby lamingtons till the moon turns blue.. or I could just dream of beautiful men and women, lusfully engaged in polygamist relationships, smearing hot melted butter on soft naked muffins. Phew. Is it getting warm in here?

Anyway.. seems more likely that you are just too hawt for your new school and none of those boys want to get their hearts scorched. As a matter of historical fact according to Gazpacho, school boys have no idea what they want or like.
Reply:obviously yes...they have started going after asians now, but that is only in states like california and newyork..nearly non existent in souther states..

Lost-2.10-23 Psalm- Mr. Eko's Brother, Yemi?

The body that Charlie and Eko burned had a GOLD TOOTH. Yemi did not have good teeth in any flashback I saw so: Assuming this was not a production goof, Why did Eko assume this was his brother's body? Who was it really that they burned? What could this mean for the story?

Lost-2.10-23 Psalm- Mr. Eko's Brother, Yemi?
Because the body had the necklace that Eko gave him.

KoRn has decended to the level of RAPPERS?!?

Whats next?! WHATS NEXT?! Ill tell you (Thanks, Bob)! The Metal band KoRn has decided to start acting like ghetto rappers!

Yes, thats right, their lead singer has worn a GRILL! Ghetto rappers wear grills! Do you know WHY they wear grills!? Because all their teeth have fallen out from the crack they smoked, and they use the drug money for buying gold teeth!

A RESPECTABLE MUSIC GROUP HAS GONE TO HELL. I love KoRn, and think their music is great. But WHY?!?!?

Can someone tell me WHY?!??!?

KoRn has decended to the level of RAPPERS?!?
That was just Jon ******* around. Really you can't always take Jonathan Davis seriously. In the music video "word up" all the band members are dogs.... so is that saying they are trying to be like dogs?
Reply:They peaked in 98, I stopped listening to them a long time ago
Reply:im sorry??...
Reply:WTF! NOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo......

not even cool.
Reply:I have no idea.

I love KoRn, too.

I was shocked to see the lead singer wearing grills, too.

And, hahaha, I'm not exactly sure that's why rappers wear grills, but it could be possible! [I hate rap, by the way. I'm not defending it.]
Reply:Oh damn lol you act like theyre the first rock band to collaborate with a rapper. Im sure EVERYONE no matter how old or young had heard the Aerosmith/Run DMC - Walk This Way. Not only that but one of Public Enemy's most popular songs is Bring The Noise which has members of Anthrax playing backup instruments.

I used to have a CD called Loud Rocks, it was a rock/rap collab CD. It had songs from Sevendust/Xzibit, System Of A Down/Wu Tang, Static-X/Dead Prez, Incubus/Big Punisher ect...

So its obviously not new.

Plus Korn had a CD called Follow The Leader. Im sure you have heard of it. One of their most popular songs is Children Of The Korn, which has Ice Cube rapping on it. That CD came out around 1998.

Korn decending to that level? Dude, you obviously werent listening to them when they released Untouchables...
Reply:Korn was never, ever respectable. They didn't really have any ground to descend upon, either.

Don't act as though any sort of hip hop artists are below them. That's absurd.
Reply:Why do you stereotype? You feed the ignorance you display. Who says they were ever not very hip hop influenced?

What band has screamed F**k what you think from the beginning? Who cares what they wear. It is about the audio. If it is good, the rest should not matter.
Reply:Wow, you're more ignorant than I thought.

I personally hate rappers but for you to say that their teeth have fallen out because they smoke crack, shows how stupid your statement sounds.

They wear grills mostly because they can, and they're used as fashion accessories. A modern version of Invisalign Braces if you will, except with rubies or diamonds on them.

Who cares why Korn would want to test out or even collaborate with other music genres, heck they could even give a helping hand to that genre and produce a great song or two.

Not all rappers are ghetto might I add, they just pretend to be. =).
Reply:I Agree You Are Ignorant.

Thats a stereotype. Just because some one wears a grill that doesn't make them "ghetto". thats like me saying i dont like yoo anymore (if we did know eachother thank god we dont) because u wore a necklace with a heart on it.

Okay... men.. whats your opinion of girls wit grills???

Does anyone remember the kid's show "Hot Fudge" from the 70's?

This show had some green puppet with these big teeth and I think one gold tooth. His name was Seymore, I think. Someone lived in a treehouse. Seymore played the piano. It had humans and puppets. The song went something like, "Hot fudge holy moly, gonna have some fun..."

Does anyone remember the kid's show "Hot Fudge" from the 70's?
"I remember way back when watching this show when I was 5. The songs they had were pretty cool like the puppet "Seymore" and the Hot fudge gang theme song. The funky lights the show had in the background while the songs were sang was like a music video. Simply 70s with a hip puppet called "Dr. Teeth"."

Who is sick of the whole RnB/ Urban thing?

I dont mean to offend anyone, but whenever i tune into MTV or the Chart Hits i see these stupid black girls gyrating around with skimpy clothes on, men with about three thousand gold chains on and gold teeth rapping about shooting someone, women as being dogs etc. It is just sooooo annoying.

Anyone else agrees with me?

Who is sick of the whole RnB/ Urban thing?
I HAVE BEEN FOR NEARLY A FECKING DECADE!!!!!!

Thank God someone else is sick and tired of seeing those hardly covered arses jumping in front of the camera, girls jumping around basically saying 'look at my titties! look at my titties!' and fellas with more gold chains than Mr. T and diamonds in their mouths bragging about the sex life and the guts and the money they fecking wish they had...

It's getting old!!!!!!!

Besides, it just sounds better when Axl Rose does it.
Reply:Dont care for gangster kind of stuff. Bad example. Can't say I mind the skimpy outfits and all that, though even I cringed a bit at Kelis milkshake. Not sure if thats the same kind of music.
Reply:I do ... Me and my boyfriend turn the TV straight off!!

Its rubbish.
Reply:At last . A kindred spirit of taste and discernment.
Reply:I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

NO ONE IN THE VIDEOS ARE STUPID, YOU JUST WISH YOU LADY HAD A SHAPE LIKE THERE'S...

AND THE GRILL IS THERE CULTURE WHICH IS SOMETHING YOU CAN NEVRE TAKE SO DON'T BE DISRESPECT OF SOMETHING YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT
Reply:Totally!! And people actually look up to these people and buy their records!! That's what gets to me!! Is it any wonder why gun and knife crimes are increasing and gangs are becoming more popular!!
Reply:me its all bums thongs violence and obcene self admiration........personally i love the killers, green day, my chemical romance ect......
Reply:I DON'T AGREE I LOVE R%26amp;B MUSIC, U PROBABLY LIKE WHITE TRASH MUSIC SORRY. I'M WIT U MR. CULTURE.
Reply:I'm tired of it not be quality as it once was, I think the industry is promoting what sells and unforunately this is what people are buying therefore its perpetuated and expected. The music industry constantly changes and uses sexuality to promote albums, with exploitation of women of all creeds and colors.

I don't support these artist and won't until someone comes along whose worth the investment

Another thing is that these artists rap about what they've been through and how LIFE is to them so you being judgemental and not being able to relate is not for you to criticize things aren't always PEACHY keen and music is an outlet for their pain. Yes, it needs to be addressed in a more reserved way...I do agree with you one that but tell your friends stop buying the albums
Reply:Yes, i am. There used to be a time when 'urban' music was a way to escape the 'ghetto' and to educate.

It was 'different.'

Now it is just a money making scheme like everthing else.

I've never liked the music, i'm a rock chick, but i could stand it if i thought the artist actually wanted to say something.
Reply:I agree with you that most of the R%26amp;B that is popular today is trash, but that doesn't mean that R%26amp;B as a genre is bad. There are many R%26amp;B singers with real talent: Alicia Keys, Toni Braxton, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, and the late great Luther Vandross.
Reply:Me for one can't stand someone mouthing off about things they hardly even know about. These lyrics talk to our young and if anything they push them into being the people they are to become. Never mind cops in the street, lets have some kind of policing of the "music" our kids have to listen to. It's happened all through the ages why not now. Censorship is a good thing when our children don't have to listen to all this Urban rap or should I say "Crap". Fine for those who have to live the life and understand the reason for them, but for the poor teenager who lives in a village, what's the point. Give those who don't know the chance to show those who do a better way in life. Nuff sed !!!
Reply:sorry but i love rap and r and b
Reply:Yeah i am tired of it, we need some good old rock n roll and metal.. I think that rock needs a kick in the ***.. I am tired of the same old song recycled and used for another..
Reply:actually hip hop is so disrespectful these days. itz all bout who got da flashiest cars and how many hoes can u phuck. my opinion it is played out but at da same time pop and rock aint no better. rock is da worst kinda music out there. u got ppl worshippin da devil and screamin n da microphone itz just annoyin.
Reply:This whole question/statement is worded incorrectly, do you know what rnb is? rnb and rap are two different genres of music. To say you are sick of the rnb thing because they rap about shooting some is just over classifying. 9 times out 10 a rnb song is to do with love not killing someone. Do you not see 'stuipid' white girls in skimpy outfits in dance, house videos etc? I sure do. I am sick of women degreading themselves for a bit of change whether black, white or asian, but guess what sex sells! And that crosses all borders of music not just 'urban' music. Not all rappers tallk about shooting someone dont be so ignorant, to those that do i agree that it is disgusting, naive simple minded people believe that crap and go out and think they can be like 50 cent. So yes i am sick with the glofication of guns and the demeaning language, acts of women in those type of videos.
Reply:i am
Reply:So you don't hate the music, but you just can't stand the content of the lyrics and how popular it is?

Well, it's on MTV and the radio for a reason. The people that like it outnumber you, and others like you who think its "sooooo annoying," so you're pretty much screwed on that front. It's popular for a reason.

But I agree with you, the lyrics are all the same in all the songs. And the sad part is, for alot of white people, the only exposure they get to the black culture is bullshit rap songs, so I think hip hop breeds alot of racism.
Reply:I love hip hop
Reply:its cool in small doses
Reply:i totally agree why wud a decent person want 2 humiliate themself like that
Reply:lmao I know what you mean! I mean a good song comes out of it all once and awhile but for every good song there is lik a 100 bad ones with bad videos of people flashing all there gold and money that could be used to help the starvin marvins in Africa etc, I noticed a lot of them wasn't seen at Live 8 lmao! When they could stop it all! Some of the vids have too many girls to focus on so I don't find it too good to be fair, and some of them are ugly with jugs so there is no point! But to be fair I don't want the whole rock (emo sh/t) to become popular neither hence the reason, you can't beat the oldies! lol
Reply:Not my cup of tea either, neither the music or the whole bling thing.

Neighbour from hell problems?

Hi everyone!

We live in a nice quiet, safe community. But last week the house a few numbers down from us was sold and the neighbours have moved in.

The 'father' had got a mouthful of gold teeth. the strangest thing i ever saw. he wears this really strong fragrance all the time and has all this gold jewelery draped over him. He looks like a pimp / crack dealer if you get my drift.

Then you got 'jerome jr III'. this youth wears a hoodie and looks like he is in one of them crack dealer rapper gangs..get my drift. The woman seems to play loud rap/ reggae music all day long and they all sit in the garden drinking 'red-stripe'.

They dont work. I wonder where they got the money to buy the house?

Should I contact the police about this lot? They are not welcome here. What can I do?

Neighbour from hell problems?
You are such a troll. Get your points up and somebody might believe you. Oh, here's some advice mind your own damn business. Bye!!
Reply:find a satanist
Reply:How can you judge someone from their appearance?
Reply:If the music is so loud that it's causing a disturbance, you would have reason to complain to the police about that; besides that, you have no case to complain about. You can't call the police because you don't like the way they look. Sorry.
Reply:T R O L L..... Its none of your business where they got the $$.
Reply:i'm sorry, but what's wrong with gold teeth, a young teen wearing a hoodie, and a mother who plays loud music and drinks 'red-stripe' ? why not bake cookies %26amp; host a "welcome to the neighborhood" get together or something ? make friends, instead of putting people down when you don't even know them, GET MY DRIFT ?!
Reply:Well President KKK.....sounds like you have a problem with other people's dental work, fashion sense, taste in music, and choice of refreshment.....you allude to their racial background with distaste......hmmm....maybe you should look for a different trailer for you and your hound dog
Reply:I can understand your skepticism after knowing your old neighbors for a long time and not knowing what may come of the neighborhood..BUT.......you can't judge a book by it's cover. Maybe they won the lotto or have rich relatives they inherited from. You just never know. All I can advice you is to keep your eyes and ears open just in case. With all the stuff going on in the world today you have to have some caution. Be freindly and try to have a positive outlook. Maybe they are happy people and wonderful neighbors. AND IF an issue may arise then proceed to take action. I know your concern as the dealers have started taking over here, I can't even let my kids out to play anymore, watch and wave is my strategy. Prayerfully things will be fine and you all will be best neighbors in the end. Good Luck and God Bless!

STEROTYPING on account of one's image? Are we ALL guilty?

My boyfriend and I had a heated argument last night about sterotyping and discrimination. Now, my point of view is that everyone stero-types....we all do it! Everyone! Now who is going to see a girl walk by at the mall, movies, etc dressed in all black from head to toe, has little devil symbol accessories with tons of black make up surrounding her eyes and think to themselves, ''she must just like black'', wouldnt our first impressions be that she is gothic or emo? Which there is nothing wrong with because chances are, we'd most likely be right. It's the same thing with

HOLLISTER giving off the ''preppy'' image

BIG CHAINS %26amp; GOLD TEETH teeth giving off the ''gangster'' image

alot of TATOOS giving off the ''bad'' or ''biker'' image and so on.

I mean sterotyping isnt all that wrong because each type of group that a person would be catergorized in dresses a certain way not ALL of them but there is an image for every group every where you go as it is in high school.

STEROTYPING on account of one's image? Are we ALL guilty?
it's true like women who dress like hookers and get mad when u call her a hooker....that's like stopping a person who is dressed as a police officer and them saying "i ain't no damn police officer"...
Reply:If stereotypes weren't true they wouldn't exist.
Reply:Hey Beautiful Mind,

All guilty. Once you realize that, then do something to adjust your view. We all like those nice little compartments that we put people into. Try judging only people that affect you, then judge them on how they treat you - and how you treat them.

I am guessing that you are a Female because you said 'boyfriend', but I could be wrong.
Reply:of course we stereotype

we may try not to judge, but yes,we do it...
Reply:We all stereotype whether we mean to or not. I try to stay away from all of that prejudice/racial discrimination and, as long as none of it leaves my lips, I think it's fine to note in my head. In every single culture people have been raised to think highly of some, badly of others, and everything else. Even with places... I stereotyped my friend's neighborhood not too long ago. She lives in Flint and we were walking her dog at twilight-- my gosh I was so freaked out at every car that passed... But I didn't say anything because that would mean I'm narrow-minded. So... that doesn't make any sense, does it?
Reply:No offense to your bf but what world did he come from? You are absolutely 100% correct. Stereotyping is so natural folks sometimes don't even know they are doing it. The problem arises when people pigeon whole people into stereotypes that aren't correct.
Reply:It's all how you look at it. We all stereotype to some extent. It's when you automatically assume the worst possible aspects are what a person is by the way they dress it's stereotyping in a bad way.

We should never assume anything about a person unless we have at least attempted to get to know them.
Reply:Everyone does it no matter who. A LOT of us try not to but in the end it's unavoidable because it is a part of our culture (which is learned over our lifetime... You can't control it.) No matter how contientious you are- you are one way or another going to fall back on or take from a sterotype to explain something or someone's behavior.

That doesn't mean that sterotypes are true but when you study sociology and anthropology the first thing your teacher is going to tell you is that sterotypes- while wildy inaccurate generally have a tiny grain of truth to them somewhere in the background.

Tell your boyfriend to take a pill. You're both right.
Reply:Unfortunally sterotyping is just a way of life, its not really a bad thing, but its true, everyone out there does it. And its kind of true, u wont find a guy dressed in all black wearing gothis make up listening to brittney spears or beenie man, he's more than likely going to be listening to slipknot or marilyn manson, most people liek to dress the part of their interests, mind u if you say me walking down the street u wouldnt know my type because i dont "dress the part" and there are alot of people out there that just dress "normally". I dress like a prep (am white) on my casual days, and all i listen to is reh\ggae and old school hip hop but to like at me you wouldnt be able to tell.
Reply:Stereotypes can convey common knowledge about people, although this may be wrong, it helps us to assess strangers.

On the other hand a stereotype can be of a prejudicial nature, causing unjust negative judgments about the other(s) in question.

I think everyone, including your boyfriend, uses the first type of mental processing - its a nutural phenomena of categorisation. Maybe he's talking about the second type - the negative. Maybe he doesn't use that.

What categories we place people into depends on our experience and learning. We all form a mental 'map of the world' - which translates into a 'mind map' - and use it to interpret phenomena. Not all such maps are negative however. We all stereotype in one way, but not necessarily the other.

You must appreciate that my definitions of "stereotype" may not be accepted by your boyfriend, and this could explain how we, or you if you don't agree with mine, might differ in opinion. Get him to define the word, and then assess his ideas. Maybe the disagreement is based on semantics, rather than opinion about factual matters per se! He might 'admit' to categorisation, but differentiate this from stereotyping in some way - perhaps he's more sophisticated than me.

Luke.
Reply:Although it's true, it seems that we all, to some degree, stereotype individuals on the basis of look, including dress, etc....

Some people change their style of dress, belief systems, etc.... quite often, especially during the teen years (when our minds seem to take on an expansion all of their own), and later on in lmidlife.

It may be a bit more difficult for us to put these people into one stereotypical category. Some people change with the wind, or so it seems.

Help with my Halloween Costume...?

I want to dress up as a redneck, Flava Flav!! If Flava-flav was a redneck, how would he dress?

I'm thining of wearing Camoflage, instead of a gold tooth, I'll have 'black' teeth, I'll wear some kind of redneck clock around my neck with binder-twine and a cowboy hat... instead of "yeeeeahhh, Boyeeee" I'll say "Yeeeeee, Hawwwwwwwww".

What do you all think? Any other good ideas for my costume???

Help with my Halloween Costume...?
Instead of Camoflouge wear Flanel like Larry the Cable Guy. Maybe wear some fake gold chains with your wrist watch attached to them. I think you'll probably need a viking helmet but try to make it into a beer dispenser helmet as well. Hope some of that works for ya.
Reply:try SADAKO from the movie The Ring.

What is up with these grills people are wearing in their mouths?

They look like they have a mouth full of yellow, rotting, nasty teeth. I don't get the attraction. My brother and his wife have matching gold teeth. When they take pictures they look like they have a mouth full of s*#t!

What is up with these grills people are wearing in their mouths?
Hi, Tina M, my name is Hank. The "grilles" are a status symbol for people plying their trade in "Gansta Rap."

Who was your favorite actors'/actress' on Mayberry?

The original show, not Mayberry RFD. Mine was Barney and Ernest T. Bass. Did you have a favorite episode, or a favorite line? Mine was when Ernest T. Bass told the Army doctor he wanted his two front teeth pulled out, and a gold tooth put in the middle so it stood out more, to impress the girls.

Who was your favorite actors'/actress' on Mayberry?
Barney was my favorite character. Favorite episode was the time Opie had to learn the Preamble to the Constitution, and Barney tried to show he still knew it.
Reply:Ernest was my favorite cause of the courage he showed...it was cool.
Reply:I liked Barny and Opie the best. I liked the episode where Opie tried to sell his bike for five dollars and then Andy was pointing out the problems with the bike to the buyer, trying to teach Opie to be responsible. Then Andy put the house up for sale and when the potential buyers came over Opie started pointing out all the cracks and leaks, it was really funny.
Reply:Mine was Barney and Ernest T. Bass. My favorite line was when Ernest T. Bass told the Army doctor he wanted his two front teeth pulled out, and a gold tooth put in the middle so it stood out more, to impress the girls.
Reply:I liked Aunt Bee. Despite her never marrying and having no children of her own, Bee was naturally maternal.
Reply:My favorite was Opie. I especially liked the episode when Aunt Bee first came to take care of Andy and Opie and no matter what she did Opie didn't act like he wanted her there. So she finally gave up and packed up to leave and when she was getting into a cab Opie starts yelling, "We can't let her leave Pa !! She needs us !!!! lol
Reply:Barney of course.
Reply:Aunt Bee's my favorite. Her recipes in the Aunt Bee's Mayberry Cookbook are awesome.
Reply:They were all great, as they say, there is no way to order the superlative. What a great show that was, I still enjoy the re-runs even if I've seen them several times.
Reply:I liked Otis, he played a good drunk. My favorite episode was when Barney was trying to make Otis, Gomer and that old man deputies. That was hilarious! Oh, and when Barney would read poems to Juanita on the phone and Andy caught him!!!!!!! Wish they had that comedy back!!!!!
Reply:i love all the characters , but if i have to choose one it would be Floyd.
Reply:there were many good episodes but one of my favorites was

" Man in a Hurry. " proves there are good reasons to take time out and smell the roses.

in regards to a favorite character this is difficult because I liked all of them. but guess I would say " Mr. Sawyer " who considered Mayberry his home town even though he had never been there before. -- kind of reminds me how all of us would feel if we were fortunate to be able to visit and move there in real life.
Reply:Barney Fife
Reply:I loved Otis, he played the part very well. always thought he must have had a nip or two before they filmed because he just looked like the part.
Reply:I always thought Barney was the funniest, but I always had a soft spot for Aunt Bea because she reminded me of my great-Aunt Babe.
Reply:Barney, although all the characters were wonderful I loved the Deputy with the one bullet in his pocket.

I think one of my favorite episodes is the one that Barney bought a used car from the old lady who ran a stolen car ring with junk cars.
Reply:Aunt Bea. I want some of her pies.
Reply:i liked the whole cast. i do not remember which episode it was, but i thought it was really funny the way barney was talking to Andy about some problem they were having and barney said to Andy, "we got to nip it, nip it in the bud ". also the episode where aunt Bea bought all that cheaper meat and then the freezer broke.
Reply:Barney, was my favorite, I like the episode where he didn't weigh enough for the job and had to eat all the stuff to gain weight, I wish I could have a problem like that
Reply:Barney and Ernest T. Bass of course. And Opie was so cute on the early shows.

What a brilliant show. It is amazing how they could get away with having those slow conversations in the courthouse or on the front porch where seemingly nothing was happening. I don't know of any other TV show that did this.

We Tivo the early shows. We don't watch the ones that came after Barney left.
Reply:I love Opie.
Reply:I liked Barney too. THey all were such good wholesome shows. wish I could have the collection
Reply:I liked the school teacher.
Reply:Don Knotts and Andy Griffin
Reply:The lady who played Aunt Bee. BTW, if you drive through the business district of Los Olivos, California east of Santa Barbara and Michael Jackson's infamous "Dreamland Ranch", you might find yourself hitting the brakes and sitting behind the wheel in amazement. In front of you will be the main street of that show. It's where they filmed the exterior shots.
Reply:Barney makes me laugh the most especially when he flirts with the women on the phone. He thinks he is "all that". I enjoy that show.
Reply:Well, I've got a little bit of a lot of the characters in me.

At one time I was a rookie Policeman( Barney)

Grew into a smarter wiser Andy.

Down home country humor of Goober.

Have enjoyed my share of adult beverages like Otis

Am a better cook than Aunt Bea

and have a nasty mean streak in my like Ernest T. Bass
Reply:I liked Barney; I loved Andy; I identified with Opie because we're the same age.

My favorite episode was when Opie shot the mama bird with his slingshot and Andy made him raise the orphaned birds. When he releases them, I get all choked up. Awww....
