Why did most of my gold fillings detach from the teeth within a 6 month period?

could a mild electric shok cause this?as in 9vlt battery testing or the occasional colorox mouth wash?

probably no moisture control during cementing, ie the dentist did not dry the tooth of saliva
Reply:Either you were doing something really stupid, like chewing on very hard candy, or you have a crappy dentist, or something in between
Reply:Cement that was holding them in failed. Not normal for this to happen. I%26#039;ve seen gold fillings in the mouth that are 45 years old. Personally I have 2 in for over 10 years. They have have come out from decay around them, which will cause the cement to deteriorate away.
Reply:Sounds like the old %26quot;island of gold in a sea of cement%26quot; problem. Gold fillings can last anyone for the rest of their life, no matter how old they were when the fillings were done. Poorly done gold fillings are the worst service a dentist can provide, though.
