The metal detector is set off by a relatively large area of metal (it is inducing a currentin the metal). Even a large number of gold teeth (or metal crowns) will not set the detector off. Similarly a small belt buckle (like mine) does not set the detector off but a large one (like the cowboys wear) does set it off.
Reply:I don%26#039;t know about quanitiy, but I don%26#039;t think that gold jewlery sets it off or most married people would have to remove their wedding bands as most are gold.
